Great neighbors make great neighborhoods!!!

If you're a resident of the Belmont Conservation District and would like to introduce yourself to your neighbors, this is the place! Just email some information about yourself and I'll post it here. You should include your name and address at a minimum. You might also include a photo and a short bio telling us about yourself such as: how long you've been in the neighborhood, your occupation, your hobbies, what you like about the neighborhood, etc.

Christine and Peter Loh - 5709 Velasco

Christine and Peter Loh live with their four year old son, Jonathan, at 5709 Velasco Ave.  They moved to Velasco in August 2004.  Peter is an attorney with Jackson Walker L.L.P., and Christine is a project manager for Bank of America.  Peter is a Dallas native and grew up in Plano. Christine moved to Texas from Illinois.  Both Christine and Peter have enjoyed living close to their downtown offices and within walking distance of the Blue Goose and the other Greenville haunts. Needed improvements to their house have taken up the bulk of their spare time since August.  They also look forward to becoming more involved in neighborhood activities.

Pat and Chuck Salvaggio- 5701 Belmont

Pat and Charles Salvaggio have lived at 5701 Belmont since June 1996. The house was built in 1917 and was in dire need of updating when purchased, to include central heating and air as well as complete electrical and plumbing replacement. They adore the house and it has been a “work in progress” since they took possession. Charles is a builder/contractor and has performed all the remodeling and updating. Some of the changes include the addition of a 3 car garage, enclosed wrap around verandah, updated kitchen and bathrooms, 2nd story modification to create a master bedroom suite, expanded and remodeled 2nd story terrace, a retaining wall addition to the steeply slopped yard, and total landscaping. Pat loves gardening and art, and Charles is an avid NASCAR fan. They both love travel and entertaining. Pat and Charles were actively involved in the initial Belmont Addition Conservation District effort and serve as the Belmont Avenue Block Captains.

Philip and Melissa Kingston - 5901 Palo Pinto

Philip and Melissa resided at 5923 Velasco from April of 2000 until April 2005, when they moved around the corner to 5901 Palo Pinto. The Kingstons are both attorneys who practice here in Dallas. They are both involved in several activities within the community, including serving as volunteers for the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and as members of the Greater Dallas Planning Commission. The Kingstons also volunteer their time on various Belmont Addition Projects. They are both native Texans, born in San Antonio. Melissa likes to garden and collect antiques and wine. Philip's interest include hunting and classic cars. The two also share their home with two cats, F. Katt Fitzgerald (the great Catsby) and Winslow Diego Rivera, and their two dogs Freedom and Westside.

Darren Dattalo - 5911 Goliad

Darren moved into the neighborhood in July of 1999 after far too many years living in the suburbs. A native Texan, Darren moved to the Dallas Area in 1985. As a fan of turn of the century architecture, Darren was drawn to the Belmont Addition by the large number of Craftsman style homes and the diversity of the neighborhood. Darren works as a Realtor for Abio A.H.K. and is the webmaster for this website. In addition to many home improvements projects, Darren also volunteers with Preservation Dallas on the Discover Dallas! project documenting the character and architectural styles in Dallas' older neighborhoods. He shares his home with Lucille Magillacutty Dattalo who can frequently be seen guarding the home from the front window.

Candy Sargent - 5902 Goliad

Candy has lived in the neighborhood since 1978. She says "it is a wonderful melting pot of people, restaurants, business and shopping! Great place to walk and sight see!"
